Badingham Shop & Café

Autumn is definitely here because delicious, warming homemade soups are back on the menu at the shop & café; we’re planning our (whisper it now) second annual pre-Christmas shopping fair, and we’re adding longer walks to our ‘enjoy the fresh air’ Walking Wednesdays.

In the shop & café

Homemade soup of the day with a roll or scone is now being served so there will be lots of great flavours to look out for and enjoy. These yummy soups replace the salad bowl of the day that proved very popular during the summer months.

Helen’s homemade quiches remain on the menu, served with a salad garnish of tomatoes and cucumber and either coleslaw or potato salad, and tasty paninis are still available.

Scones, teacakes and tempting homemade cakes remain a staple offering so do come and enjoy some light refreshments or a delicious lunch with us.

You might also notice we now have background music in the café which adds to the welcoming atmosphere. Thanks to Clark for making this happen and finding suitable music to play.

Don’t forget we have a lovely selection of crafts and produce on our shelves. Have a browse and you might just find the perfect gift or treat for yourself.

Pre-Christmas Shopping Event

Our second annual Christmas craft fair will take place at the shop on Friday 10th November, from 3pm to 7pm, and will feature a wide range of unique and handmade gift ideas and Christmas cards. A number of local craftspeople will be displaying their wares and there will be the opportunity to pre-order some items.

We will have our own 2018 calendar for sale, featuring popular recipes for food from the shop’s menu. An ideal present for friends and family - and your own home!

Festive refreshments will also be served so please add the date to your calendar and we hope to see you there!

Opening hours:

Monday to Friday - 11am to 1pm
First Sunday of the month - 3pm to 5pm

Regular events

Tots' Lunches Tasty little lunches for the little people are now available every day the café is open, not just on Tuesdays, and include a free pot of tea for the adult accompanying a child.

Walking Wednesday - Weekly hour-long walks are continuing throughout the year, leaving the shop & café at 10:00 and returning at 11:00. We are also now offering a longer walk on 8th November from 10:00 to 12:00, and again on 13th December, 10:00 to 12:00. Come along … and do consider staying on at the end of the walk to purchase and enjoy the soup of the day!

The walks are free and are cancelled only if there is heavy wind or rain.

And finally ...

Our shop & café wouldn’t exist without the support of the volunteer team and we’re fortunate to have helpers from within the village and from surrounding communities. If you’d like to help out - on a regular or occasional basis - please contact Karen on 638061. It’s a great way to meet people, have a laugh and help our community venture continue to succeed. New volunteers are guaranteed a huge and friendly welcome!
